Sewing, one step at a time

This summer I decided to put more effort into sewing.
With scrap fabric from the bins, I'm hand sewing English paper pieced hexagons into...I'm not exactly sure what, at least a pillow, maybe a quilt? I've been looking at pictures of antique Baltimore album quilts. I admire the bold and intricate design of each block. A project to think about when I finish my hexagons, maybe.
I'm also sewing my third Laurel dress. I'm having fun adding different details like homemade bias tape and applique collars.

Leaves and Snow

I've gotten into the habit of walking the mountain in Montreal, and although it's not quite fall, and there's no snow to be seen, I look forward to the changes to come. These two new wall banners depict Fall and Winter walking scenes, and I've put them in my shop.

I also like making tassels, so I've added one to my second shop of vintage craft supplies, Maudthrift.

I see more in these than tassels - two little eyes could make a ghost-like character, or a twig handle to make a broom? we'll see.
